We fell in love with Holesfoot as soon as we saw it. We narrowed down our search quite quickly as we wanted to get married close to Appleby, which is where I grew up and where all my family live. Holesfoot is a relatively new venue, and has so many lovely spaces inside and out. The Manor House is the perfect background to the Italian Gardens (we have used the emblem of the Manor House on our STDs, invites and menus on the wedding day). And the Barn is a great space for the wedding reception and evening band. The spaces in Holesfoot are free, whimsical and feels like home away from home. We love how it's a blank canvas and you can really make the space your own.
The colour scheme for our Holesfoot Wedding is blush peaches and blues. The style is summery, bright and airy, and quite English country garden (I'm a country girl at heart!). The suits are from Whitfield & Ward (3 piece suit) and are dark navy blue. The dress is from Andrea Hawkes and I would describe it as timeless, simple and elegant. I love the silk of the dress and how it's flows with movement.
We have silver wedding bands each, mine has diamonds around half of the band. I'll be wearing a pearl silver necklace and my mum has given me one of her lockets that contains photos of both of my grandfathers who sadly are no longer with us, to tie to my bouquet. My veil is my 'something borrowed' as it's the veil my sister wore on her wedding day.
Bridesmaids are wearing different dresses, all shades of dusky blue. Groomsmen are wearing dark navy 3-piece suits, the same as Dan, but with a different waistcoat.
STORY
I work as a HR Manager for a consultancy firm. I'm also big football fan, and enjoy pilates, retail therapy and wine. Dan works as a Project Manager for a bank and enjoys running and football as his hobbies. We both love to travel, so try and fit in as many trips as we can with our annual leave quotas!
We met on Hinge, as all great modern day love stories begin. We went on a date in London to a bar, just before Christmas 6.5 years ago. We met in London, moved in just before Covid and then decided to make the big move back up North to Manchester 3.5 years ago.
HONEYMOON
We have booked our Honeymoon in November and will be heading to South Africa and then onto the Seychelles. We booked it as we have never been before and love the variety South Africa brings - we are planning on going to Cape Town, the wine regions, whale watching in Hermanus and then onto Kruger for a Safari. We've both never been on Safari before, so can't wait, and then will follow the trip with a more relaxing 5 days in the Seychelles.
PROPOSAL
Dan proposed on an island just to the north of St Martin, in the Caribbean. He took me for a walk up into the hills and proposed overlooking the bay. My Mum and Dad were with us, and were brought into the surprise a couple of days before. Which made for some lively celebrations for the rest of the trip.
MOST EXCITED ABOUT
Celebrating with our friends and family. We are making our wedding day a wedding weekender, with events planned on the Friday and Sunday to try and make the most of the whole weekend. It will feel quite overwhelming for me having everyone we love in Appleby all together.
EXPERIENCE
FILM
We have worked with Emma Tebbey to style our Holesfoot Wedding. Emma will also be our on the day coordinator. The decor mirrors the overall theme, english country, elegant, summery and bright. The peach colour was our initial colour on the colour palette as it really glows with the sandstone colour in the barn. We paired this with a dusky blue and that will be the colour of the table linens and napkins. The tablescape will have flower bowls in the centre, tape candles and cut glass wine glasses, flutes and tumblers. We are having a dessert table (hopefully outside weather depending) and the table linen for the dessert table will pull together the pressed flower elements of the on the day stationary (name card and table plan), with the peaches and blues.
We want our guests to be immersed in the flow of the day, mingle and have the most fun! We can't wait to celebrate with all of our family and friends around us. Food will be a 2 course meal (from Karen Rhodes) followed by a dessert table containing mini desserts. The evening food will be a pizza van (served from a rustic repurposed horse box, by Yonder Pizzas). We both love live music - so our day is filled with this. We have a pianist for the ceremony and drinks receptions (where classical tunes will turn into more upbeat pop songs), an acoustic guitarist for evening drinks and the dessert table, and then a band in the evening (where hopefully we'll hear a couple of Oasis numbers!)
We love how you capture the flow and essence of a wedding day, which each of your films being unique to the day itself. I absolutely loved the film you did for our friends, Chloe & Rob's wedding, which convinced us we needed a videographer (as we were a little on the fence before that). I can't wait to watch it back to relive the feeling and emotions of the day, and see special candid moments with our guests that we may have missed on the day itself.
