THE BACKGROUND FROM Siân + Tim

VENUE

One of Siân's patients is a talented cake maker, who is making our cake. It will be three tiers in ivory icing with pearls cascading down the upper third of each tier on a mirrored table surrounded by eucalyptus and Siân's bouquet off to the side of it.

We want our guests to feel special and to also feel the love and the joy of the day and what it represents. We know there will be family that will have not seen each other in a while and will want to catch up and as most of our friends now have babies, so it will be beautiful to get them all together to enjoy a "night off".

We are having a duck starter, lemon sorbet palette cleanser, Beef main and apple cheese cake to finish. Our wines are Borgo Del Mandorlo Primitivo (red) and Deer Point Chardonnay (white). The white wine is Bulgarian and is a little nod to our Bridesmaid, Pavlina, who is Bulgarian born. Cava will be our toasting drinks, with Bellinis and Prosecco served in the drinks reception (with a few beers too).

We are very excited to be having a string quartet playing in the ceremony and in the drawing room for the drinks reception afterward too - we adore everything from classical music to string versions of film scores and modern songs.

Continuing our love of music, we are having a live band, Nantwich based band The Hustle, to preform and DJ in the evening. There will be a saxophonist too - who doesn't love a saxophonist?? We don't like cliche wedding numbers and wanted a live band to create that atmosphere only a live band can create whilst being able to curate a playlist of music that reflects us as a couple.

Think fireplaces, candle light, warm white lighting - we will have warm white up lighters to illuminate the orangery and warm white fairy lights nestled in the drapes that cover the ceiling. To the back of the orangery, we will have a "star lit" black backdrop and black LED dance floor with a big glitter ball above and a live band for the evening but this will be curtained off for the wedding breakfast.

Wrenbury is nestled in the Cheshire countryside, near to where Siân was born and grew up, so its location was meaningful from the offset. We love the long drive up, the lawn, grounds and the grandeur of the building. On a practical level, its well laid out to allow us to create the vision we wanted for our wedding day and we also had the option to stay onsite with the wedding party from the Friday to Sunday (which we are doing). We also knew we wanted to have all of our family and friends celebrate with us, so it had capacity to host our guest numbers.

The Oak Room where our ceremony will be conducted is intimate and beautiful - the fireplaces in the Hall are stunning and the main one in the champagne lounge is always lit in the Autumn/ Winter and we fell in love with the cosiness and warmth of the place and how it lent itself to that time of year. The Orangery is a more modern twist but allowed us to have a statement back drop and black LED dance floor for plenty of dancing with a live band. It was a perfect blend of old and modern and felt "right" when we walked around - plus the team are amazing and go above and beyond.

STORY

Tim and I met on Bumble and spent two weeks messaging each other before we finally met in person on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Knutsford, 26th September 2021. As soon as we saw each other it was love at first sight. Our date lasted hours. Starting in a small coffee shop we "clicked" with each other's stories having so many parallels, so we continued onto Tatton Park, truly getting to know each other, the good and bad and asking deep and thought provoking questions - we both loved one another's intellect and knack for good conversation. We sat by the water's edge and Tim had taken his jacket off and placed it onto the ground for me to sit on - I knew I'd found a gentleman. We then walked on for cocktails at April's Kitchen, stretching out our first meeting that we didn't want to end.

About Tim: As a Senior Product Manager at BT, it is my role to lead and set direction for others - therefore it is important, at work as in home, for me to feel like I am supporting and providing for those around me, empowering others to thrive in order for us to collectively succeed. At home, the 'bath time and bed' moments are massively important for me to be part of and I flourish in watching Siân and Ellie both grow as individuals and as a family. I get energy from those 'pub moments' with my mates and taking part in the long, deep, philosophical discussions.

About Siân: I am an osteopath specialising in women's health and hypnobirthing. I am really passionate about helping people and I take a lot of pride in the time I have with each patient/ client to make them feel better, heard and supported. I love attention to detail and I am meticulous in everything I do - I love cleaning my home (yes, I'm that sad) but I put effort into decorating and making our home feel like a special sanctuary to host our family and friends. I love spending time with my family and friends, it recharges me and lifts my spirits, but I also love my quiet time. Flower arranging, reading and perusing Neptune or The White Company websites are my guilty pleasures for my down time. Despite my expensive home decor tastes, I am very down to earth, I adore time with Tim and Ellie. Becoming her mummy was the best day of my life (on par with our wedding day I'm sure)

Our perfect day would be a slow morning together as a family of three, with a lovely breakfast, either at home or possibly finding a spot on our local High Street for brunch. Followed by a big walk in the countryside - even better if we were in Cornwall or the Lakes. Finished off with a cosy evening in.

ATTIRE + ACCESSORIES

My dress is called Rhodes by Evie Young. It is a modern take on a classic wedding A-line gown (however, when "floofed" the full circle skirt is a statement!). It is ivory with an off the shoulder sweetheart bodice, enhanced with a wide wrap-over collar, with left leg split. It is very old Hollywood- glamour and straddles Modern and classic beautifully. I think it will look stunning and timeless in black and white photos (I think so, anyway!)

I bought my wedding dress from Aurelle Bridal on our local High Street in Newton Le Willows. Not only was it my dream, dress, we love to support local on the high street so it was a no-brainer. My bridal shoes are Charlotte Mills "Libby", they are a strappy block heel with pearl embellishment across the toes and an ivory satin finish. They have a beautiful poem on the sole and a silver sixpence in one shoe for luck - I love pearls and they just tie everything together

Tim and his groomsmen are in tuxedos, with bow ties, waistcoats and shiny black dress shoes. Tim's ring is platinum with detailing around the edges - our wedding date is engraved on the inside. Siân's Wedding ring is a platinum marquise diamond ring that frames her engagement ring. Her eternity ring is the same as the wedding ring to complete the set. Siân's earrings and necklace are a combination of pearls and diamonds, to tie in the pearls in with the decor and diamonds of her rings. Siân will have three small charms in her bouquet, two containing photos of both sets of grandparents who have passed away and one which says "I know you would be here today if heaven weren't so far away" - it makes me tear up just thinking about them all! They are very much missed everyday.

Dark olive green is the colour scheme - and the bridesmaids and wedding stationary will also be in this colour. I have two bridesmaids, Sarah & Pavlina. They will be wearing floor length dark olive green chiffon dresses, with small pearls in plaits of their hair. The best man and groomsman, Joe & Jamie, will be in tuxedos (they are the groom's and brides' brothers respectively). Our flower girls are our daughter, Ellie, and our niece, Dorothy. There is 5 months between them, Ellie will be 2.5 and Dorothy almost 3. They will be wearing long ivory dresses with pearl detailing along the collar and back.

PROPOSAL

Tim proposed to me on Monday 11th September 2023 at my favourite place in the world, The Minack Theatre, Cornwall. I have loved it there ever since I was a little girl - I love the beauty of the landscape, cliffs and sea. Unfortunately, I was breastfeeding our four month old daughter, Eleanor (Ellie), and I had a blinding migraine. With my dad and mum in on the proposal, my dad on hand to take the photos of the occasion, I was doing anything but making it easy for them with feeling so ill. Tim had managed to get a theatre steward onboard to help the scheming, who managed to close off a section of the theatre overlooking Porthcurno Beach for him to pop The Question. Having almost coaxed me to that section of the theatre, I declared I was going all the way back up to the top of the theatre (which is set into the cliff face) and tackle the many stairs and slopping car park to get to the back of the car to feed Ellie with my sunglasses on and out of the daylight. Tim, frantically came with me, switching the giant ring box from pocket to pocket to conceal it from me and after I'd finished, he managed to convince me to come back to the spot he had chosen with the help of the Steward.

My parents offered and offered to hold Ellie, but my "mamma bear" instincts were strong and I wanted to keep her close to me. Overlooking the beautiful Porthcurno Beach, I heard Tim say "Siân, you know I love you..." I turned around to find Tim standing in front of me and a ever gather thing crowd of people on the steps of the theatre above looking in on what I slowly realised in a time-slowing-down moment, that Tim was proposing to me. "Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife? (Tim later tells me he had a big speech to say but the nerves got the better of him) to the point he opened the ring box (inside was my dream engagement ring he'd memorised and had custom made for me) and I asked him if he was going to get down on one knee as he was still stood statuesque with nerves. Taking Ellie, he got down on one knee and asked me again - I obviously said "YES!" to the burst of applause from the audience (and the banging on the coffee shop window and whooping from the electricians that were doing a big refurb job).

MOST EXCITED ABOUT

For us, our wedding day has been a long time coming in many ways. So the answer is two-fold; we want to enjoy the love and the happiness with our family, but we are looking forward to the intimate private moments with each other - and even Ellie too as a family to take stock of the day. This is really important to us. Plus, we have put a lot of effort into the sensory elements of our wedding day, what we see, hear, smell and taste - we want to really immerse ourselves in the day and we are looking forward to seeing all of these elements coming together.

HONEYMOON

We are having a self proclaimed "family moon" over a honeymoon as we will be taking Ellie away with us. We have found a 5 star all inclusive resort in Turkey and decided to upgrade to a swim up room (because we still wanted to be practical yet decadent with our two year old in tow!). We needed somewhere with a manageable flight time for Ellie and we also wanted some guaranteed sunshine in October/ November, and we settled on Turkey as we have both never been before - let alone with a two year old, so wish us luck!

We think it will be a special holiday in itself but a beautiful destination to soak in all of the wedding and everything we've worked so hard on planning coming together. But to reminisce on the weekend and all our special "photograph moments" (we both talk about having "photograph moments" in life, when we have something happen and is captured to the special memory place in your brain - I'm sure we will have lots of those to talk about).

EXPERIENCE

Our theme is sophisticated romance that is complimentary to October. We wanted the floristry to represent the English Countryside in Autumn, incorporating lots of muted natural colours and textures without being kitsch (bright oranges and pumpkins was a no-go!). Autumn is Siân's favourite time of year - I love cosy fires and Autumnal days.

The floristry consists of eucalyptus, dried poppy seed heads, toffee roses, terracotta roses, ivory roses, rose hip, heather, grasses etc to create texture and drama. They will have a gathered "I've just scooped this up effortlessly from a hedgerow" feel. The bouquets, button holes and cake topper will be made by Siân's auntie and mean a great deal to us, the rest of the floristry in the venue will mirror these; cascading down the lower stair bannister and onto the floor and above the fireplace in our ceremony room, The Oak Room.

In the orangery, we are having the above florals along the top table with tapered dark olive green candles. On other tables will by tall silver birch trees to balance the hight of the room and nestled as centrepieces on other tables are tree stump slices, with cylinder vases of rose hip in water and floating candles, others will have the tapered olive green candles on and all will have olive green cheese cloth to tie to together and add texture.

FILM

The moment Siân saw your work in Chester Cathedral, she didn't need to look any further. She loved how you effortlessly blend that sophisticated, elevated feel, without sacrificing heart-felt moments and the love and intimacy of the day. Rob, we've not looked at anyone else!

We would love for you to capture the essence of the day in the flowers and the small details, but above all, we'd really love for you to capture our love - maybe that's our words, gestures, body language or raw emotion, but we really want to feel like we are back in the moment again when we watch it back. Without putting a downer on things, we'd love to capture our close family especially, as it will be a beautiful moment in time to capture them on film and bring them back to life one day. Its those candid moments of affection and uniqueness that to us make it a treasure.

special thanks...

a note from me...

Thank you both for such an amazing day! It feels like we had this one in the diary forever, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The way you are with each other is so refreshing to see, I could really feel the love. You’re completely and utterly made for one another, and with Ellie, such a perfect little family.

I loved being part of it, from the big moments to all those smaller in-between ones. Thank you for being so great to work with, I genuinely loved every second. Sending love, and I hope you love reliving it all through your wedding film collection.
