An Arley Hall Wedding Full of Love and Family

ARLEY HALL | EMILY YUNG-HAN+RYAN

AN ARLEY HALL WEDDING

After exploring many venues for their Wedding Day, Emily and Ryan fell in love with the beauty of Arley Hall; the many pretty rooms and character made it the perfect venue for welcoming family and friends visiting from Taiwan, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Ireland… all over the world! The traditional Arley Hall wedding setting, along with the special features such as the library and gardens make this not only the perfect wedding setting, but also every wedding videographer’s dream.

Saturday 23rd March; a perfect Spring day with the sun shining brightly, yet still a chill in the air. Beautiful flowers and later colourful lanterns swayed elegantly in the wind giving warm, multi-cultural vibes.

The jewels covering Emily’s wedding dress glistened in the light during the morning’s wonderfully relaxed bridal preparations. Watching the reactions of Emily’s bridesmaids on first sight of the bride in her dress gave all the feels. Meanwhile, Ryan concluded his preparations in the library, a room full of knowledge and tales with floor to ceiling books and novels… I still chuckle at Ryan’s quick wit during the tea ceremony where he asked if anyone had read any good novels lately. Bravo Ryan.

Guests from across the World congregated at the Great Hall to take in it’s beauty, canapés provided nourishment before a traditional Arley Hall wedding breakfast was served - who better to choose the wedding breakfast than Emily herself - someone who has studied food science at the University of Nottingham?! Following the meal,

the guests took part in the Red Letter game, only to be completely destroyed by an "underdog"... the Flower Girl! She dominated Rock, Paper, Scissors reigning victorious and winning the pot of money for her table.

For the first dance, Emily and Ryan expertly performed a mini 3 dance routine they had learned together, with all the guests watching on in amazement. Despite initial reservations around Taylor Swift, Ryan excelled with his music choices during the party, which even included Greek, Taiwan and Mexican songs.

Emily and Ryan’s day was a perfect blend of cultures - Taiwanese elements like the Groom's challenge, tea ceremony, colourful lanterns and throwing of broccoli (as fate would have it, expertly caught by the Father of the Groom who is next to be married!). Complemented by British elements such as a well-rehearsed first dance routine, speeches, morning suits & of course, flatcaps by order of the Peaky Blinders.

Emily and Ryan, thank you for choosing me to capture the special memories of your fun-filled day, surrounded by all your loved ones from across the globe. It was an absolute privilege to be there with you and I hope you and Luna enjoy watching all those magical moments and reliving such a precious day.
