A HOBBIT HILL WEDDING | MODERN, ELEGANT AND ROMANTIC

VENUE

RECEPTION

The air was fresh and sun was shining as I made my way to Lancashire to film the wedding of Mr and Mrs Griffin (to be!). I had a feeling that the day ahead was going to be one of the best…

Hobbit Hill, Maina and Tom’s chosen wedding venue, is situated in the rolling hills of the Ribble Valley, providing panoramic views across Lancashire.

Once the vows were complete, guests formed an arch to welcome the newlyweds with plenty of confetti! Family and friends relaxed in the sun enjoying drinks and canapés, before gradually making their way inside for the wedding breakfast. Following an epic entrance from the groomsman and bridesmaids, the new Mr and Mrs Griffin were greeted by their guests swinging napkins in celebration.

SPEECHES

PREPARATIONS

The speeches were all excellent! The first, Daksha was truly heart-felt, Tom delivered the perfect groom speech and Tom’s brother (and Best Man), certainly did not disappoint! I have to admit, his was by far the best Best Man speech I have ever heard! Expertly executed, John had the room in stitches… brotherly banter and unconditional love was evident throughout. A candlelit wedding breakfast followed, with delicious food, great energy and guests clearly loving life!

Within an adjoining building to Hobbit Hill, the bridal party preparations were in full swing. Excitement filled the air as the talented wedlocks and alexandraclaremua set to work on hair and make up. Glasses of fizz helped to calm Maina’s nerves as the anticipation grew. Despite this also being a big day for the Mother of the Bride, Maina’s mother Daksha looked after everyone (including the suppliers!) providing teas, coffee and toast… for which I was extremely grateful!

Meanwhile, Tom was in high spirits, yet appeared cool, calm and collected. Whilst capturing groom shots in Hobbit Hill’s ceremony room (picture wall to ceiling glass and stunning views of the Ribble Valley), I was able to record intimate moments shared between two brothers, as John helped Tom with his corsage. Despite an initial struggle, they got there in the end and the brothers’ bond was clear.

Back in the bridal suite, Maina’s bridesmaids had begun helping their bride into her wedding dress. Emotions were running high as Daksha and Sascha, the Maid of Honour, embraced at the sight of the beautiful bride. Everything was going to plan… well, if you don’t count being late for the ceremony of course!

PARTY

Staying true to the modern yet elegant theme – the first dance song, Starley’s ‘Call On Me’, started off slowly allowing Tom and Maina to ease themselves in with a slow dance, yet the tempo steadily built and by the time the chorus dropped, the guests couldn’t wait to join the couple and the party officially started! As if things couldn’t get any better, Will Maden started his set on the decks. Not your typical wedding DJ… Will mixed effortlessly between tracks and genres making the evening party one to remember.

FILM

Maina and Tom said "We want to capture the wedding experience so we can look back it and share with our friends family and children in the future. We were at Kris & Grace Bibby's wedding and saw your videos on instagram. The footage looked fantastic and we can't wait to have you film our wedding."
