VENUE
THEME
We had seen/heard about Rivington before and had been for walks in it's grounds. We went to an open day and fell in love with it. We went to see around 4/5 more venues and nothing really compared.
We want our Rivington Hall Barn wedding to be magical, memorable, classy. We have opted for classical, green, white roses and tried to go for classical tea lights and centrepieces . The venue have large wooden beams and fairy lights as well as white drapes hanging down.
STORY
EXPERIENCE
We met in our first year of college at St John Rigby College. We had a mutual friend and this friend brought Dale up to our table to have dinner with us. We then began getting the college bus together as Dale lived quite close, he used to text me to let me know when to set off and we would get the bus together every day. Fast forward 12 years and we have had a flat, 2 houses and a now a dog together.
I’m a primary school teacher trying to survive teaching 5 years olds and have been doing this for 7 years. Dale now works from home and is a field team leader for EoN energy (boo!)
Dale loves loves loves golf (hence is having crazy golf at the wedding- eye roll!) and I love shopping. Our perfect day definitely involves our current 10 month old pup, Bear. Up and out early for breakfast and a long walk in the sunshine, stopping off for a coffee and ice cream and then heading home for a BBQ in the garden or a Sunday dinner and a beer!
Starter will be chicken liver pate, followed by beef brisket roast dinner and millionaire torte and ice cream for dessert. Evening snack are chips and sausage or bacon sandwiches plus vegetarian alternatives. I have done my own sweet table.
We have entertainment throughout our Rivington Hall Barn Wedding. Arrival through to wedding breakfast is a live singer, Callum wright as well as having Crazy 9 Golf. Dinner is the singing waiters (which is a surprise!), and Destination Dance Floor is our evening band. we will also be having Warrens Vintage VW Car Photobooth outside for silly pictures that creates a guestbook.
HONEYMOON
We have booked a mini moon to Cornwall where we will be taking Bear with us. We go on the Sunday after the wedding and have booked a little secluded cottage with a hot tub. We love Cornwall and it will be Bears first time there so we can’t wait. Then in the October half term, we are looking to book a break abroad. We are still negotiating this one! We have differing opinions haha!
PROPOSAL
It was 11 years later. Dale took the ring on holiday to Lanzarote but it wasn’t the right location (so he says), so he brought it back home. I then booked Rome for 5 days for us last February and the ring came again. After lots of fussing and trying to find the best location to do it, he left it to the last night on the rooftop of our hotel looking out over Italy he got me looking out and as I turned around, in the pitch black, he was on one knee. It was the biggest shock of my entire life!
FILM
When we lost my Nan, my mum always said she didn’t have a lot of videos were my Nan is speaking (or just videos in general- I think it was a time period thing), which got me thinking, there’s so many parts to a party/wedding that you don’t see, and it would be so nice to see it all. I lost somebody extremely close to me last year, and it puts it more into perspective now than ever, I want everyone me and Dale love on a video that is super special us and that we can show our children one day.
ATTIRE
The boys have opted for Tuxs’ and the bridesmaids are in dusty sage dresses for our Rivington Hall Barn Wedding. The colour scheme is sage, rustic, barn vibe to compliment our venue.
JEWELLERY + ACCESSORIES
Our wedding rings were a story within themself. Dale was on call when the jeweller came to our house. He was answering work calls and I was choosing the most expensive ring. Each time he answered a call, my ring price went up haha! I’m still finalising other pieces of jewellery yet.
